Kripta is a coupage of three traditional Cava white grape varieties, all organically grown and hand-harvested from three unique plots in the Penedès. The Macabeo (45%) is from the Vicari vineyard in Sant Pau d'Ordal (planted in 1962); the Xarel-lo (20%) is from the Mercader vineyard in Sant Sadurni d'Anoia (planted in 1974); and, the Parellada (35%) is from the Lola vineyard in Sant Joan de Mediona (planted in 1969.

Following the traditional method of making sparkling wine (like champagne) the second fermentation takes place in the amphora-shaped bottle, with a natural cork,  over a period of at least eight years, approximately the same amount of time as some of champagne’s great marques. 

Medium yellow with golden highlights. Classic aromas of Brioche, buttery biscuit ripe fruits and a hint of vanilla. The palate is round and full with persistent bubbles. Simply an excellent benchmark Cava.
