Product Details

The Cream of Kentucky brand was originally introduced in 1888 by I. Trager & Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio. Just before the end of Prohibition, the brand was acquired by the famous Schenley Company and subsequently re-introduced in 1934. Through the 1930s and 1940s Cream of Kentucky grew to become one of the leading bourbon brands. The brand Cream of Kentucky is now owned by J.W. Rutledge. Jim Rutledge is the former Four Roses Master Distiller and recently purchased a limited supply of Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey he feels is worthy of the rebirth of Cream of Kentucky Bourbon as a premium whiskey.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: The aroma is rich and inviting, with pronounced notes of caramel, vanilla, and baking spices. Hints of dried fruit, toasted oak, and a touch of rye spice create a complex and enticing bouquet.
  • Palate: On the palate, Cream of Kentucky 7.5 Year Bottled in Bond delivers a full-bodied and robust flavor. The initial sweetness of caramel and honey is balanced by the spiciness of rye and black pepper. Mid-palate reveals layers of dried apricot, toasted nuts, and a hint of dark chocolate, creating a well-rounded and complex tasting experience.
  • Finish: The finish is long and warm, with lingering notes of spice, oak, and a subtle sweetness. A touch of mint and eucalyptus adds a refreshing end to the rich and bold flavors.
